Merle And Strings

"It's hard to believe anyone could still believe that good string arrangements and good country music don't mix. But if you should chance upon someone still arguing this nonsense, all you need to offer in rebuttal is a single word: Carolyn." So say authors David Cantwell and Bill Friskics-Warren in their enthusiastic book Heartaches By The Number, which tries to chronicle country music's 500 greatest singles. And they're right of course, as the sometimes sad, sometimes soaring strings really add to the atmosphere of Merle's 1971 hit single. Take it away, Strangers.

mocht een arrangement misplaatst zijn dan dekt de tekst het met gemak! Geweldig nummer wat zo in de non stop auto repeat kan!!
